Custom Software for Quote, Bind, Policy Ops, and Claims

Join.To.IT builds insurance operations software for insurers, MGAs, and brokers: quote and bind journeys, policy-change workflows, and claims handling around the core you already run. We are not an insurer, and we do not replace a full policy administration system of record.

Insurance software solutions we build

Journeys and claims work around the core, not a second PAS

Insurers, MGAs, and brokers typically have a policy admin or bordereaux process that is slow to change, plus email and portals that actually carry quotes, endorsements, and claims. Brokers chase status. Claims handlers rebuild context from attachments.

We build the workflow layer: quote and bind, mid-term changes, and claims from FNOL through assessment support — integrated to the core and to partners. The system of record for policies stays where it is. Join.To.IT is not an insurance carrier.

Platforms for insurers, MGAs, and brokers

Start with the channel that stalls — often quotes or FNOL — then extend into policy operations without rip-and-replace of the core.

01

Quote and bind journeys

Rated or referred quotes, bind checklists, and a clean handoff into issuance on your existing core.

  • Product and coverage capture
  • Referral and underwriter queues
  • Bind-subjectivities tracking
  • Broker and direct journeys
  • Issuance handoff to core
02

Policy operations workflows

Endorsements, cancellations, and renewals as cases with status, not as unstructured email to operations.

  • Change-request intake
  • Renewal pipeline views
  • Cancellation and reinstatement steps
  • Document generation for changes
  • Ops assignment and SLAs
03

Broker and partner portals

Submission, quote status, document exchange, and bordereaux-friendly views for the producers you work with.

  • Broker authentication and roles
  • New business submissions
  • Status on quotes and claims
  • Secure document exchange
  • Commission statement access
04

Claims intake and FNOL

First notification, coverage questions for handlers, and a structured claim file from the first hour.

  • FNOL web and partner intake
  • Loss details and parties
  • Early document capture
  • Assignment to handlers
  • Policy snapshot at FNOL
05

Claims assessment workflows

Reserves as your core records them, tasks, vendor referrals, and a trail of handler decisions — around, not instead of, claims admin.

  • Tasking and diaries
  • Vendor and expert referrals
  • Correspondence templates
  • Payment request workflows
  • Handler notes and audit trail
06

Insurance operations reporting

Quote conversion, bind cycle time, endorsement aging, and claims volumes for operations leadership.

  • Quote-to-bind reporting
  • Referral mix analysis
  • Claims aging and SLA views
  • Broker performance operational views
  • Exports for finance and actuarial teams
AI for insurance operations

Read submissions and claim files — do not silently bind risk

Submissions and claims are document-heavy. AI helps classify, extract, and summarise so underwriters and handlers start with a file, not a pile. Binding, coverage positions, and settlement authority stay with your people and your core.

Our Join.To.IT AI development team connects these capabilities to your submission archive, claims documents, and approved wording libraries.

Submission document extraction

Pull structured fields from ACORD-style forms, schedules, and loss runs, with review queues when confidence is low.

FNOL and claim file summaries

Produce a sourced summary of the claim file so the next handler is not rereading every attachment.

Coverage wording assistants

Answer internal questions from your approved wordings and guidelines, with citations, for staff — not as customer-facing coverage advice.

Correspondence drafting

Draft acknowledgements and information requests from your templates for handler review before send.

Duplicate and related-claim flags

Suggest possible related files for a human to confirm. Flags support investigation; they are not automatic denials.

Insurance integrations

Connect journeys to policy admin, data, and partners

We integrate workflow software with policy administration and claims cores, rating or data vendors, identity checks, e-signature, and broker or MGA exchanges where interfaces exist.

Join.To.IT does not underwrite, hold risk, or replace your policy admin as the system of record. Issuance and financials stay on the platforms you licence.

Why custom software

Why insurers and MGAs build around the core

Policy admin is stable on purpose. Quote experience, broker UX, and claims intake are where cycle time and service fail — and where a full PAS replacement is usually the wrong first project.

The core should not be the website

Brokers and customers need journeys your PAS screens were never designed to be.

Referrals are the real underwriting work

Straight-through is a minority. Queues, notes, and subjectivities need a proper case model.

Claims start before the core file is rich

FNOL quality determines the first week. Intake software is not the same as replacing claims admin.

MGAs and brokers need a portal, not email

Status, documents, and submissions in a channel you control beat inbox archaeology.

You remain the carrier or intermediary

We engineer workflows. Authority, licences, and risk stay with your organisation.

Our development process

From quote and FNOL queues to working insurance software

The same Join.To.IT delivery process, applied to quote/bind, policy operations, and claims workflows around your core.

01

Business analysis

Map quote, bind, endorsement, and FNOL-to-assessment steps as they run today, including broker waits and referral loops.

02

Solution design

Define case data models, integration points with PAS and claims admin, and how every underwriter or handler action is logged.

03

UI/UX design

Design portals and queues that make status obvious without pretending the workflow layer is the policy ledger.

04

Development

Build quote/bind or FNOL first — whichever stalls the operation — then policy-change cases and claims tasking in slices.

05

Quality assurance

Test referral rules, failed core writes, permission boundaries, and incomplete submissions before production volume.

06

Launch & support

Launch by product or channel, watch cycle times, then extend endorsements, renewals, and claims without a PAS rip-and-replace.

FAQ

Insurance software development questions

Practical answers for insurance operations leads, MGA COOs, and broker technology owners.

How much does insurance software development cost?
Cost depends on products, channels, and whether the first release is quote/bind, policy-change ops, or claims intake. A single-product quote journey with a broker portal is a contained build; adding endorsements and FNOL-to-assessment workflows expands scope. We price after discovery against a defined feature set.
Do you replace our policy administration system?
No. We build journeys, portals, and claims workflows around the PAS or claims admin you already run. Issuance, billing ledgers, and the policy of record stay there. A full core replacement is a different programme and not the default recommendation on this page.
Is Join.To.IT an insurer?
No. We are a software engineering partner. We do not carry risk, issue policies, or act as an MGA. Licensing, underwriting authority, and claims authority stay with your organisation. We implement the workflows and audit logging your compliance team specifies.
Can AI bind coverage or settle claims?
No. AI extracts submissions, summarises claim files, and drafts correspondence from your templates. Bind, coverage position, reserve changes, and settlement follow your authority framework and your core. Models assist handlers and underwriters; they do not silently take risk or issue a policy.
How do you approach security without PCI or SOC badges?
Access control by role, environment separation, encryption in transit and at rest, secret management, and audit logs of quote, policy-ops, and claims actions. We do not claim PCI or SOC certifications we do not hold. If you need a named standard, we build to the controls your assessor defines.
How is this different from lending software?
Lending pages cover application-to-servicing for credit. Insurance here is quote, bind, policy operations, and claims. Both use cases and documents; the objects, partners, and cores are different. We keep the products separate so buyers are not reading a generic “case management” pitch.
